The only things I’d say YSI has going for it are:

I think that might actually be much faster download speed than YSI – and free. 13 minutes to upload and 1 minute to download. I just did a Soshare test on a 518 MB file. Joseph, I actually signed up for SoShare when you first brought it up in Feb and then just sort of let it be as it was in beta. John Davidson | President / Creative Director | Magic Feather Inc. I can say that if I had sent the file I’m uploading right now, our 600MB file I’m still syncing to Google Drive would have been completely uploaded and ready to download by my clients in the time I’ve thought about and typed up this post (about 8 minutes). We never used the YSI/HT cloud features because cloud storage for large video files is a hassle IMHO. I’m completely uninterested in that – I want a dedicated service for sending huge files individually. With this, we’ll be able to send nearly 10 minutes of ProRes footage to clients in one upload. What do you guys think? From a practical standpoint 10gig file transfers for $25/mo is pretty solid. That, like YouSendIt, still doesn’t even remotely imply that they have a new cloud storage service. I guess the name denotes your files flying out of your computer as fast as possible. On their community forum people are already complaining that files sent from Hightail to clients will look like a porn spam email. This is a good thing.Īpparently they’re trying to become more of a dropbox type service but it’s just a weird name.
